They were floating in a cold but soft to the touch stream of water,
caressing their feet through the purple soil beneath them.
Feeling whole with the water, the calming sensation overpowered them,
completely blinding the eyes (2023).

Scraping with river stones, the water creature wrote in hieroglyphs, leaving us a poem to uncover (2023). Oil paint on cotton, 150x150 cm.
In the series ‘Rows’ I explore the hypnotising movements in painting. This mechanistic approach to material is translated to the brushstrokes, the rows and the monochromes. As this approach to painting comes close to printing techniques, I am developing this connection further.
